چکیده

This article studies copper (Cu)-based composites alloyed with nickel (Ni) and reinforced carbon nanotubes (CNTs) fabricated via powder metallurgy under pressureless sintering methodology vacuum. Different compositions of matrices containing 0, 3, 30 wt% Ni are compared after at 550 750 °C. The formation phases for the different is analyzed by high-temperature X-ray diffraction (HT-XRD) in solid-state range up to 800 °C, which reduction oxides along can be identified. Subsequently, pristine multiwalled CNT (MWCNT) contents 0.5, 1.0 prior sintering, whose dispersion influenced powder's morphology. A custom-made electrical contact resistance (ECR) setup used investigate behavior sintered samples, which, particularly, allows identification improvements conduction samples 0.5 3 Ni. chemical incompatibilities between Cu attributed presence solid solution.

Characterization of Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube-Reinforced Hydroxyapatite Composites Consolidated by Spark Plasma Sintering

Pure HA and 1, 3, 5, and 10 vol% multiwalled carbon nanotube- (MWNT-) reinforced hydroxyapatite (HA) were consolidated using a spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique. The relative density of pure HA increased with increasing sintering temperature, but that of the MWNT/HA composite reached almost full density at 900°C, and then decreased with further increases in sintering temperature. The relat...

Determinant role of tunneling resistance in electrical conductivity of polymer composites reinforced by well dispersed carbon nanotubes

Three-dimensional Monte Carlo simulation is used to investigate the electrical conductivity of nanocomposites composing of conducting nanofillers and insulating polymer matrix. When nanofillers concentrations low and they are well dispersed in the insulating matrix, electron tunneling resistance between the nanofiller junctions is found to play the dominant role in electron transport. In additi...
